Hinterlands takes place on the same world as the map Tartarus, near another downed spaceship. The region in the map is heavily forested with several large trees in the area, and all of their roots have been exposed. Most of the fights will take place under the trees, but snipers do like to sit on the roots and shoot other players. This map is available in Arena mode only.
