The Radar Sensor is responsible for providing the team with the location of enemy players that are not in their direct line of sight, as long as one teammate can see the enemy. As of the Game of the Year patch, Radar Sensors are now shielded, and upgrades no longer add health, but increase the effective range by 60 meters per upgrade. The shield is designed with a very high restoration rate to keep players from disc sniping them. Mortars were modified so that they explode on contact with the sensor. The Arx Buster, Plasma Cannon, Plasma Gun, and Fusion Mortar are some of the best ways to quickly destroy a sensor. The fastest way to destroy a shielded sensor is to use a Grav Cycle, one full salvo from it will destroy the sensor.
