The Base Turret is the primary defensive mechanism for protecting the teams' bases and flags. Base Turrets will automatically fire at enemies that are within firing range. While the Base Turrets are very accurate, they can be easily manipulated by strafing. As of the Game of the Year patch, Base Turrets are now shielded. The shield is designed with a very high restoration rate to keep players from disc sniping them. Mortars were modified so that they explode on contact with the turret. The Arx Buster, Plasma Cannon, Plasma Gun, and Fusion Mortar are some of the best ways to quickly destroy a turret.
