Tribes: Ascend/Call-Ins
Every player is equipped with a targeting laser; unlike the other Tribes games, this targeting laser not used for marking enemy locations, but for calling in support via a Tactical Strike, Supply Drop, or Orbital Strike by pressing 3, 4, or 5 respectively. The targeting laser has an infinite range, but requires the laser to be pointing at an area with open sky above it. There is a cooldown period between successive call-ins of the same type. The cost and cooldown period for the call-ins can be modified by server owners.
Tactical Strike
The Tactical Strike is used for more precision strikes against enemies, it calls in 3 high speed explosive blasts. The 3 strikes will occur within a 14 meter radius of where the call-in was targeted, and takes 1.5 seconds for all 3 projectiles to hit, and deals 10,000 damage per hit. The Tactial Strike takes 3 seconds to call in and 1 second for the first projectile to hit. The player must wait 30 seconds before they are able to call in another Tactical Strike.
Cost: 4,000 credits
Supply Drop
The Supply Drop is a somewhat portable version of the Inventory Station. A player can call in a Supply Drop to be dropped from the sky to the location of the player's choosing, even on top of another player, dealing 16,000 damage. The supply drop version can do everything the normal Inventory can, except it can not start a player's health regen, and can be destroyed. One of the benefits of the supply drop is that is not dependent upon the generator. The Supply Drop takes 2 seconds to call in, 5 seconds to land, and has a splash radius of 2 meters. The player must wait 10 seconds before they are able to call in another Supply Drop, but doing so will destroy the first station.
Cost: 2,000 credits
Orbital Strike
The Orbital Strike is the most powerful of all of the weapons in the game, calling forth orbital bombardment from space. The Orbital Strike will first show a very large red laser targeting the area, along with an air raid siren, and then fire 8 lasers down within a 60 meter radius of where the call-in was targeted, and lasts for 2 seconds. Each laser deals 10,000 damage. As if the strike was not powerful enough, it is bugged, and can shoot through certain parts of buildings, including about half of the ship in Crossfire, and the small buildings on Drydock. The Orbital Strike takes 4 seconds to call in and 4 seconds for the first laser to hit. The player must wait 30 seconds before they are able to call in another Orbital Strike.
